Have no idea why “Brokeback Mountain” was rated ‘Restricted 21’, in short, ‘R21’. Was it because of the mature content inside, that it was something about an explicit relationship, and not a normal relationship? Or was because of some sexual scenes, which was really not that sexual? I do not know. I watched the movie at a more artistic view. It really gave me the arty feeling, and though the whole movie was calm, it actually would leave a deep impression in your mind for a few days.
Definitely, it wasn’t as exciting as a horror movie, or as thrilling as a thriller movie. However, it was something else that kept people glued to the seats. I guess there were actually reasons behind, as to why it is rated ‘R21’. The movie needed a certain depth of in-depth and mature thinking, so as to watch it normally. I guess minds of teenagers below 21 weren’t ready to handle this kind of movie yet.
Nonetheless, this movie really deserves so many awards and nominations.
