绝对Superstar

Today was the finale of Project Superstar(绝对Superstar) since the starting of April this year. The 24 contestants who made it are actually idolised by the public, some of them even have fan clubs. Their popularity soar way up high that even some overseas artistes are on par with them. However, the final result was something that was predictable yet carrying with a tinge of pity + unfairness. The final result was solely depended on the public and if you have the money, everything can be done pretty easy. With money, fans can buy dozens of the cds to support, and also, SMS and call several times, just to poll for their fav contestant. This means that professionals' views were disregarded and if money is able to "捧红" someone, or bring their fav contestant to win the contest, I feel that the contest is just a scam.

It's just my personal opinion however, I feel that Kelvin, who won the contest, is able to only sing a particular genre of song. It is true that his performance tonight was better off than his past performances, but Kelly's performance was definitely better. If people keep saying that Kelvin won because of 同情票, then why does he keep singing songs that will make people pity for him? Just because he's partially disabled, it doesn't mean that he has to make people vote for him out of pity. If he has the voice, the skill, the talent, people will automatically vote for him. True enough, he does have the voice for some of the songs, but others actually sing better and why do people vote for him? Is it because they feel that "Wow! He's blind and he can sing till he touches my heart. He deserves my vote!"? Tonight's performance, he kept singing only one genre of song, which was 抒情. If changed to R&B style, he is not able to make it. However, Kelly proved to be the real superstar, by abling to sing different genre of songs and adapting all the way. Definitely, her performance tonight was great. The charistmatic, the skill, the voice.

I just feel that if Singapore is to hold contests like this kind, they should not made the public decide who the winner is. It is unbias especially when it comes to the term of money. Professionals views and judging are actually more important as they know what to look out for a characteristic that a singer must have. If he/she has it, he/she can really become a real superstar. In this case, this "Project Superstar" contest, professional judging were totally ignored. So what's the point of having judges?
