Notice that the film poster posted for "The Dark Knight" is bigger than "Red Cliff" posted in an earlier entry? That's because if you were to choose to watch either one of the movies, I would strongly recommend "The Dark Knight". Even though this is the first time that I'm watching a "Batman" movie in cinema, I love "The Dark Knight".
Instead of Christian Bale as the main lead, I feel that Heath Ledger is actually the main lead. He really plays the role of "Joker" very well, with the psycho-ness, cold-blooded character depicted out. Jack Nicholson's "Joker" was nice too, but I lover Heath Ledger's "Joker" better. You can't deny that Heath Ledger is a good actor, and from wiki-ing "The Dark Knight", Heath Ledger actually spent a huge effort in understanding "Joker", and hence, bringing the character out well enough. There are really a lot of character developments in "The Dark Knight", for each individual character.
Didn't watch "Batman Begins", which is the prequel to "The Dark Knight", but still it doesn't affect watching the movie. Everyone knows who "Batman" is and who the villians are, and you'll understand quite fast. Even though if you do not know, it doesn't matter either coz the character development is so good, you don't need to know the background of the characters. That is unlike to "Red Cliff" which doesn't have much character development, but focuses more on the story plot. In "The Dark Knight", story plot and character development are well-balanced, which is why it is much worth watching than "Red Cliff".
Overall rating: 5 stars out of 5 stars.
*P.S.* Watch out for Edison Chen who makes a cameo appearance. It's a few seconds and his face isn't that clear.
