My confidence level has reached the bottom.

Story is being rejected again.

I've made it bolder, not so conservative.

Life experiences.

How many of the stories are their life experiences?

What is your level of acceptance?

How you define a good story?

How you define a ridiculous one?

I have no idea.....

Totally demoralised..............

If I were you... I would go up to a higher level to complain. Scott Hessel. Or Suresh. or Issac even. I do not think it is fair.

It would be the equivalent of an Animation major being told because his animation story idea sucks, he cannot animate his own idea and has to help his classmate do the background, draw the inbetweens etc.

Or a Product major being told his product design idea is BAD, therefore he can only help his classmate with the prototyping of the GOOD product idea.

Or a Photo major, that his photography is so bad, he can only help other classmates develop their photos in the darkroom.

What the hell?!

Even if your lecturers think your story idea is weak in terms of concept and plot, I do not think they have the right to take away your opportunity to direct your own story. They could help you to fine tune your story to make it better instead of just saying No, it is crap, you can't do it.

It is not fair that some people in the class get to shoot their stories while some don't.

It smacks more of the faculty more interested in building a "good" portfolio to show the public than in helping the student learn about the film making/script writing/story telling process, mistakes and all.

You paid good money for your film education. This is YOUR story, YOUR short film and YOUR film studies. Fight for it! Raise the issue with your lecturers and whoever is higher up. Make noise if you think it is unfair. Nobody else will do it for you.
