Ever since last week, when one of our professor brought the topic "Cloverfield" in, our class and all my other friends have been talking about it. For those who have not watched, they'll hear a controversy about the movie. Basically, it's a "either like-or-hate" movie.
When Singying and I wanted to watch the movie on Monday, after our Survey of New Media class, Miaoqin was discouraging us from watching. She watched it and said it'd make her feel like puking after watching, due to the way it was shot. The way it was shot was like "Blair Witch Project". However, Singying and I decided to judge ourselves by going to the movie.
Okay, after watching, it was not as bad as it seems so, in fact we quite like it, except for the ending. I would say it was quite clever of the director to use such a way to shoot the movie, and with the clever editing, everything makes sense, and everything is shot with a reason.
For the ending part, I think is becuase we ar not observant enough, or perhaps the speck is just too small for normal eys to observe. Coz I came back and 'googled' it, Rob actually had shot the first shot of Cloverfield, during the ferris wheel thingy, the end of the scene. In addition, the end of the movie, Rob's voice could be heard saying "Help me" but there's an idea going on saying, the voicewave could have been reversed, coz when it's reversed, it's saying "It's alive", hinting there could be a sequel to it.
Haha... anyway, I kind of like the movie, not as bad as what some of my friends say it is. Well, I guess, one has to watch it and make his/her own judgement.
